Fate Finds The Future
Life is full of unexpected blessings.
Sometimes the universe lends us a hand and gently guides us to where we need to be. Before we know it, circumstances go right, plans align, and dreams come true. Whether it’s luck or happy coincidence, the story of Keel and Iren Lewis is a happy twist of fate.
The two met when Keel was looking for an apartment for his daughter, who goes to school along Taft. Iren was the real estate agent who helped him find a unit. One thing led to another, and the search for an apartment transformed into marriage, a life together, and shared goals that led to building a home.
Keel and Iren Lewis have been living in Avida Towers Prime Taft for two years. Keel works in cybersecurity and frequently travels between his home in Manchester, England and the Philippines. Iren still works in real estate. The flavor of their unit is highlighted by a classic black and white theme in the main living area that gives the space a thoroughly modern and stylish feel. The home office is sleek, as is the bathroom. And the master bedroom is cozy.
Keel explained that their design philosophy was simple and straightforward. “It’s all about compatibility and usability. Everything has to be in the area that you want it to be, if that makes sense. There’s no point in having everything out of place where it’s not going to be used,” he said.
As for color, the approach is equally well-defined. “When we were drawing it up, we always said “three colors. You want three basic colors, from there you want to introduce some touches like red, and a few greens for example, and that makes all these little, small things just stand out,” Keel explained. A designer helped with the initial plans, but the transformation of the unit was decidedly a family affair.
The unit also uses space and color to delineate one section of the house from the other. There are clear sections between the dining and lounge areas, while the home office has its own room and color scheme. But the Lewis family takes pride in more than just their unit; they have truly come to embrace Avida Towers Prime Taft as their community. Iren in particular is very familiar, both with the stability of the Ayala brand, and the reputation of the staff working at every property.
“I really enjoy the community. I know the neighborhood, and everyone is very friendly,” Iren said.
She added that she has come to consider many of the staff as friends. And these bonds not only foster a warm vibe, but, like any real friendship, can also be a shoulder to lean on in case challenges arrive.
I actually really want to thank the community because they’re very alert, especially in the middle of the night. Should you have an emergency, you can just call them,” Iren said. It’s because of this friendship that in things both big and small, Keel and Iren can come home to safety, security, and peace of mind.
It also helps that Avida Towers Prime Taft is located near Adventist Medical Center. For many aspiring homeowners, quick, reliable access to a trusted hospital provides peace of mind in case of emergencies. Iren says that many of the tenants at Avida Towers Prime Taft were attracted to the place mainly due to its proximity to Adventist.
Ayala’s reputation for service and no nonsense, efficient work also made the administrative side of property acquisition problem-free. “They turned over the unit within 30 days. And everything was complete. The process was really reliable. When we applied, we didn’t encounter any difficulties. Because the moment that we completed our documents, we just counted 30 days and it was turned over,” Iren said.
Home for the long haul
While many families would view a condominium unit as a guest house or starting residence, Keel and Iren are very much here for keeps. They’ve built their long-term vision for the future around the acquisition of their unit and see it as a seed that could grow to be something greater in the future.
“This is home. This was built basically for our future kids. That’s pretty much where we’re going with this. We’ll make a bigger home, if necessary, if there’s more kids but, at this stage, this is home,” Keel shared.
When looking for a place to live, Keel’s advice is to look from the outside in. “If I was to start, I’d get to know the community around first. You don’t want to be setting up shop where you don’t feel comfortable. It’s as simple as that. Once you get to know the community, get to know the good areas, the good landlords, the good companies within that area, if there’s an Ayala there that’s always safe to go with. From there, then getting to know the unit, the building, and then its lay-out and size, that’s the first thing. Then you start looking at your interior and what you need. For me, the best approach is from outside-in. That makes the home,” Keel explained.
