He enjoys jumping rope, balancing on a board, roller skating, and cycling. He makes sure to squeeze in at least one hobby a day that serves as his outlet. I am a morning person so I start work before my 9AM clock-in because I want my deliverables done within my work hours.”

It is without a doubt that the challenges and burden of the pandemic has left the majority of us mentally and physically exhausted. But even in dark times, there is always a silver lining – seeking out the positive and staying hopeful. Kirk Reyes was one of those people who lost their job because of the pandemic, which affected his mental wellness. “It was really hard to deal with losing my job. It’s one thing to listen to people telling you to just have a positive outlook and another thing to really push yourself to feel and do it when everything seems to not go your way. This is where my anxiety stemmed out and ate worry for breakfast till dinner.” Kirk’s savings was just enough to sustain him until he gets a new job given the unnecessary expenses that have built up his credit card, his car amortization, and so on. His friends helped him recover mentally and helped him find a new job as well. “I began reconnecting and reaching out to friends who really helped me recover. This is when I started revisiting and doing old and new hobbies, reviving my business, finding a new job, and really knowing myself and what I really want in life – long term things that will make me happy and content.”

At his 30’s, after reviving his business and getting a new job, Kirk finally decided to invest in an Avida property. One of his goals in life is to acquire assets that will give him high returns – something that appreciates and is a value for his hard-earned money. Kirk bought a 128-sqm lot at Southdale Settings Nuvali – one of Avida’s latest residential development in -Ayala Land’s master planned, mixed-use, and sustainable estate in Laguna, Nuvali. His long term financial goal is to build his dream home on the lot he purchased. When asked why he decided to go for a Nuvali address neighborhood, Kirk pointed out four important elements: convenience, scenery, space, and safety. “It’s pretty convenient for me and my family to stay there because our province is in Batangas. Nuvali has this “SUPER RELAXED SOUTH” vibe – it’s chill, quiet, and safe. I heard that it’s a safe zone for earthquakes and that made me really want to get a property. I like that it’s near Mt. Makiling (that’s the view from my lot) and Nuvali is considered a biker-friendly community, which is just perfect.”

When asked about his neighborhood favorites around Nuvali, he recommends walking or jogging along Nuvali’s Lakeside Evozone and treating yourself to a meal at Nonna's Pizza Napoletana located at Ayala Malls Solenad 3 across Nuvali. “I love jogging, cycling, and skating at Nuvali’s Lakeside Evozone. The nice views is what I live for! After tiring myself, I make sure to treat myself good food at Nonna's Pizza Napoletana. My favorite item on the menu is the spinach and goat cheese pizza!”

It also gave him a sense of fulfillment by having a property he can call his own – without breaking the bank. At his 30’s, Kirk learned the importance of investing and how to spend money wisely. “It’s never a bad idea to have a bit of fun every once in a while, but also learn how to save money, really value it, and know your priorities. Yes, it could be risky but it is so worth it. The decision that pushed me beyond my vision and motivates me to do more. Soon, I’ll have something I can call home.” Check out this inspired life space in Nuvali, where you can grow and thrive at the Southside: https://www.avidaland.com/southdale-settings-nuvali
